Hello my name is Paige
JulieAnn Lee Borst and I am your 2009-2010 Minnesota State Executive Vice President.
I was born on October 8, 1992 in Monticello, Minnesota to Jo and Gary Borst.
I have one brother and one sister and I am the middle child. I Attended the
Bertha-Hewitt High school in the small town of Bertha, Minnesota. I am the
president of my local BPA chapter, class, prom committee, FCCLA Chapter, and
speech club, just to name a few. I am also involved in over 35 extracurricular
activities at my school.
I am a very laid back person who loves hanging with my friends, shopping, and
watching football. I love living life to its fullest and I love a challenge.
I absolutely love meeting new people and getting to know them. Many describe
me as outgoing, hardworking, intelligent, and sometimes a little to talkative.
I also love spur of the moment things and adventure. Some of my hobbies included
playing softball, reading and my passion, dancing. I have been dancing for
about 13 years now and I love it. I have also competed nationally in dance
with my competition team. Outside of everything I love spending time with my
family and playing catch with my younger brother. After high school I plan
on going pre-med and attending medical school.
I am looking forward to meeting all of you soon. I encourage all of you to
take the opportunities that you are given throughout life, because you never
know where that you might end up or who you might meet. With that said, I will
leave you with one of my favorite quotes by Harold R. McAlindon, “Do not follow
where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
Hello there! My name is Shawn Vue and I am the State Executive Secretary for Business Professionals of America. I was born in December 17, 1991 in San Diego, California. I later moved to Minnesota in 2000 and have resided in Brooklyn Center ever since. I’m the youngest in a family of 8 with 2 brothers, 3 sisters, and of course, a mom and dad. I went to Evergreen Elementary, then from there to Jackson Middle School, and to where I am currently, Champlin Park High School. GO REBELS! I am in many school clubs such as Link Crew, Multicultural Club, Peer Mediation, and Break Dance Club (my personal favorite). My favorite past time is break dancing and I am in a dance group called Rhythm Nation. I’m pretty friendly and laid back when you get to know me. I also have the greatest teacher ever, Mrs. Hable (she's my BPA advisor). I joined BPA in my senior year and prior to that, I have been elected Local and Region 4 President. I look forward to the upcoming year as State Secretary and wish the best for everything.
My
name is Richard Lu. I was born sixteen years ago in a small town in China.
I moved over to
the states when I was three years old. As a child I enjoyed not only playing
with my friends and doing normal kid stuff like trading Pokémon cards
but was also really intrigued with business, my aunt owned a small wholesaler
back in China and I’d often hear my parents talk about it over the dinner table.
I knew that when I grew up I’d definitely wanted to do something related to
business. During summer in grade school I’d run a little neighborhood lemonade
stand with my brother to make some spare pocket money. Around that time I also
started playing soccer. I’ve playing for the last ten years. Last summer I
had the opportunity to coach a U10 soccer team, a great learning experience
that taught me importance of good communication and patience (keeping a group
of 11 nine year olds focused for more than half a minute requires divine intervention).
In 6th grade I was accepted into the University of Minnesota Talented Youth
Mathematics Program where I took accelerated math course at the U, which allowed
me to begin calculus by the time I started high school. I moved to Plymouth
a few years ago and I’m currently a junior at Wayzata High. Other being a chapter
officer in BPA, I play soccer and basketball, and am on the math team. I’m
a captain of an intramural basketball team that my friends and I organized: "Team
Gryffindor". I also like messing around with technology and computers;
I work at Best Buy as a computers sales associate, a great job that has really
helped me develop good people skills and shown me the importance of teamwork.
I joined BPA my sophomore year and really enjoyed the experience. It was really
awesome competing, meeting new people and making it to the national leadership
conference last year. When the opportunity came for me to run for state office
this fall it was a no brainer. It’s a great honor to being elected to state
office for such an amazing organization and I will put in my best effort to
do whatever I can to serve and advance Minnesota Business Professionals of
America.
